5 Refreshing Summer Smoothies for Healthy, Glowing Skin
Psst...guess what? It’s summer! The sprinkler’s out, the sun is shining, the days are longer—and smoothies are here to stay. Hooray!
I can’t think of a better way to get healthy, glowing skin from the inside out than with a refreshing summer smoothie. Packed full of nutrients and flavor, healthy smoothies are just the right balance of vegetables, fruit, protein and fat: Fresh, local fruits and vegetables are super easy to come by these days, either at your town’s farmers market or a you-pick berry patch, while protein and fat can be added from unsweetened nut butters, chia, hemp or flax seeds, full fat organic yogurt and coconut or nut milks. The possibilities are endless! Just blend away and voilà! You have a healthy, delicious breakfast or snack.
Some of the best skin-loving ingredients to look for in a smoothie are berries, yogurt, spirulina, coconut, green leafy vegetables and avocado. But let’s face it: although smoothies are easy-peasy to put together, sometimes combining the right ingredients for the best flavor can be, well...daunting. Have no fear! Glowing Skin Smoothie // Sally’s Baking Addiction
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup plain coconut water
- 2 frozen ripe bananas, previously peeled & sliced
- 1 cup chopped pineapple (frozen or fresh)
- 1 cup chopped mango (frozen or fresh)
- 2 cups spinach or kale
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- Optional: 1 tbsp ground flax or flaxseed oil
Glowing Skin Smoothie // Simple Vegan Blog
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 2 bananas
- 2 cups raspberries (frozen)
- 6 dates
Bright Skin Smoothie // Pickled Plum
Ingredients:
- ½ kiwi, peeled
- ½ apple, cored
- 1 small banana, roughly chopped
- 4 large strawberries
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- 1 tbsp flaxseed, ground

- 1 avocado, peeled and pit removed
- 3 clementines, peeled
- 1 cup chopped kale, stems removed
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup mixed berries
- 1 apple, cored
- ¼ cup raw walnuts

- ½ cup water
